World Vision Malawi on Tuesday (17th December, 2024) donated K40 million worth relief items towards Moderate Tropical Storm Chido response operations.
The donation comes at a time when the Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) is providing relief assistance to over 7,000 households affected by the storm.
Speaking in Blantyre, World Vision Malawi Humanitarian Emergency Affairs Manager Sobhuza Sibande said his organization felt compelled to complement government’s efforts in reaching out to the affected.
In his remarks, DoDMA’s Director of Disaster Preparedness and Response Rev. Moses Chimphepo described the donation as timely and commended the organization which visualizes life in all its fullness and is rooted in the love of Christ.
