The Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) in the office of the President and Cabinet would like to update the general public on damages caused by Moderate Tropical Storm Chido.
The total number of affected households has risen from 7,721 (as reported in our previous update dated 17th December, 2024 to 10,159 (approximately 45,162 people). Out of the 10,159 affected households, 227 people have been displaced. The death toll is now at 13 (from seven); while the total number of injuries has increased from 16 to 29.
Meanwhile, the department is providing relief assistance in collaboration with various humanitarian partners. DoDMA is also leading the development of a plan that will guide the implementation of short to mid-term interventions.
